How Stores are Rated

BeatThat! breaks all online stores into 3 categories:

  1. Green - these stores are the best in terms of customer service and delivering what they promise. You should feel very comfortable buying from a Green store.
  2. Yellow - shoppers give these stores mixed reviews. Generally speaking, the issue with these stores is poor customer support. There's rarely any complaints about malicious or fraudulent behavior. And, there are plenty of positive reviews for these stores as well. Just have your eyes open to what issues you might come across.
  3. Red - shoppers should be wary about buying from these stores. There are very few positive reviews of these stores and many "horror" stories about them. Typical issues involve "bait and switch" tactics, selling incomplete products, rude telephone support, etc. That said, shoppers clearly buy from these stores, and they pay very little. So you need to make your own decision on whether the risk is worth the dollars saved!

BeatThat! determines its ratings based on reviews of these stores at Reseller Ratings, Shopping.com, and Amazon.com.

  • The store must have the product in stock.
  • Only deals in US Dollars.
  • Store must accept credit cards for payment.
  • Deals must be for exactly the same product - including variations such as color and packages - as shown on the product page.
  • Final cost must include shipping cost to a US zip code.
  • Rebates/coupons/discount programs are acceptable, but must be accessible to all shoppers.

There is also a rule on how many deals a BeatThat! member can submit:

No more than one deal per color per product per member per day! (This is to prevent a member from submitting a bunch of deals in a row, each one slightly better than the last!)
